Representation Built Upon Trust for Pioneering Contemporary Artists

For over a decade, David Favret has served as the principal representative and strategic advisor to internationally acclaimed artist Big Chief Demond Melancon. His work has encompassed institutional and gallery partnerships, international exhibitions, biennales, licensing and legal coordination, exhibition production, and long-term career strategy supporting the evolution of a contemporary art practice extending from the Black Masking Culture of New Orleans. In 2026, Melancon’s participation in the Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition marked a significant milestone in the international presentation of the Black Masking Culture within contemporary art. Building upon this experience, Favret’s advisory practice provides strategic artist representation and international exhibition management. His approach remains guided by trust, advocacy, and deep respect for each artist’s voice, values, and creative autonomy.
