Strategic Advocacy for Visionary Artists

David Favret leads an independent management and advisory practice dedicated to supporting artists whose work holds cultural, historical, and artistic significance. As a representative and advisor, he works closely with artists to advance their vision and navigate complex institutional relationships with integrity, professionalism, and discretion. In coordination with galleries, counsel, studio, and advisors, he aligns artistic goals with curators, institutions, and strategic partners. For more than a decade, he has served as the principal representative of internationally acclaimed contemporary artist Big Chief Demond Melancon, helping to bring his work to major museums, biennales, and global audiences.

With the Artist in Mind

David brings a comprehensive and independent approach to artist representation, combining strategic advising with hands-on project management. His services encompass long-term planning, institutional engagement, intellectual property oversight, partnerships, and coordination of major exhibitions. Working in close collaboration with each artist’s broader network of representation and support, David helps ensure their best interests remain protected. With a focus on trust, clarity, and effectiveness, he enables artists to focus on their creative practice while protecting the integrity of their work.

A Decade of Artist Representation Grounded in Trust & Cultural Integrity

As principal representative for Big Chief Demond Melancon, we serve as the central hub connecting curators, institutions, galleries, advisors, and collaborators. David Favret has worked alongside the artist’s galleries, studio team, and external advisors to advance a powerful and evolving body of work exploring the intersection of the Black Masking Culture and contemporary art. Together, they have produced exhibitions across the U.S. and abroad, including the Biennale of Sydney, Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and a national traveling exhibition organized by the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art. Favret leads institutional collaboration, supports strategic planning, and helps shape public narratives that reflect the artist’s intent. Favret and Melancon’s work together has yielded global media coverage, significant institutional partnerships, and ongoing alignment between creative practice and professional opportunity.
